Indigenous Arts & Stories - Uvanga

I am a carver and I like to create art. I come from a long line of artists. My dad was a well known carver, and my grandfather is a carver as well. My great-great grandfather, Parr Parr was one of the first graphic artists of Cape Dorset.

Parr Parr settled in Cape Dorset and made many drawings. His drawings were made into prints by the local printers. His drawings and prints are records of his time. It was a time of great change for Inuit. I want to create art that represents my time.
